  • Iranian-Americans for MOUSSAVI
he doesn't quite deserve the title of "Dr." but hey, if you want Iran to be run even further into the ground with a growing list of enemies and see the place where you may have once called "home" turn into a second Iraq or Afghanistan...maybe then you'll change your mind.
  • Georgia
I have to second you on this, Iranian-Americans for MOUSSAVI!

"Dr. Evil"....err, "Dr. Ahmed" doesn't quite deserve the title. (Although, a title is only that - only a title, nothing more!)

I hope that they can start a *SERIOUS* investigation into this election/matter! You and your country deserve so much better than this! (Although, I will tell you the truth - America had experienced this before too! When Bush came into office - *BOTH* times the polls/elections were rigged, so that he could stay in office as long as he did!)

But I hope with all my heart and soul that things can be changed for your and your country. (We have a good president over here, Obama, who wants to have relations with Iran once again. And, honestly, I believe that after 30 years - we, both countries, need to try reach out and shake hands again!)

Peace, luck, happiness be with you and everyone! Good luck!

    Irani -

Don't feel bad. America experienced this before too - when Bush corrupted...err, "won" the election and spent another 4 more years screwing up the country as "President"! (It now looks as if Iran will suffer the same horrible fate....Unless of course, some sort of true/real investigation can be done!)

Hope to you, your country, and your people! Good luck - I hope things will change for the better for you and for everyone!
  • Georgia
*shakes head* That's really a shame that this has happened - I was really hoping for only the best for Iran and its people. (Heck, I even took time out of my busy schedule today, and went out and voted - and now it only seems like such a waste! If you must know, I vote for Mousavi......My husband's really bummed about this, as I imagine a large majority of Iranians are!)

Although it came as a shock - as Mousavi, himself, said this might happen! (Especially if corruption was involved!) Not entirely surprising though, especially when you consider the fact that you have a one-sided government/officials that doesn't allow a particular candidate to speak at a particular city "due to the possibility of traffic problems"...

    http://www.payvand.com/news/09/mar/1056.html

.....But yet, somehow, this isn't such a *HUGE* problem when Ahmadinejad wants to go speak somewhere, *ANYWHERE* he wants....Hmmm...???....Something's quite not right here.

I hope the people of Iran can start a serious investigation into this matter!

What else expected from a Islamic dictatorship? Freedom of voting? It was just a "show"! How easy they play games with people. How easy they crush poor people's hope, especially young Iranian nation. It's just a shame...
  • Georgia
    Someone -

I can completely and wholly understand your disappointment - I am crushed and disappointed by the results too. I know that there are probably hundreds of thousands - if not a million or more - of Iranians, all around the world, that must be feeling the *same exact* disappointment you I and feel right now!

What a shame, and a sham, that your government played games with you and your people the way they did. What a shame they allowed people to really have hope in their hearts, when all they were planning on doing in the end is to crush that hope! What a shame that corruption - especially in the voting sector - exists, anywhere!

But I want you and all Iranians to take heart in knowing that America has faced similar events before - just recently, in fact, when George W. Bush was in office. (He cheated in both of his two elections to become president - any many Americans were angry, upset, and crushed by this!) Things are getting better now that Obama is in office - but we have a looong way to before we can completely fix all of the damage Bush and his group of phonies did while he was in office.

Things will get better for you and your people as well. It will just take time, endurance, and patience - but you will get there!

Good luck and don't completely loose all hope. There is still a chance for change - just as America proved that words such as "Yes We Can" can come true - so can Iran!
  • Someone
Musavi just issued an official memo about the results of the Iran election. I saw a brief summary of it on BBC but he calls the election results unbelievable and staged. He also advised all his voter that he will pursue this matter in a legal way (in what legal system?!)...
  • Jogger John
Neither candidate supports halting Iran's headlong drive to develop nuclear weapons. The people of Iran must understand that if they get nukes, so will their rival Sunni neighbor countries. (As everyone knows, India's nuclear weapons capability provoked Pakistan into following suit.) In the long run, Iran will not be more secure with nuclear weapons. Worse, all the nations of this world will face a near
certainty that extremist that these weapons will fall into the hands of extremist groups, sooner or later. And if that happens, it will truly be the end of the world as we know it.
  • Georgia
    Jogger John -

What you say may be true, however, Iran and some of the (more peaceful/less extremist) leaders have repeatedly assured the IAEA and those who are most concerned that the nuclear technology will *NOT* be used for harmful purposes. (And strangely enough, I believe them.) Not everybody's out to "get America" - peaceful people *DO* exist! (Even in Iran!)

It was also announced that if Moussavi got into office, he would extend his hand out to other countries (including America) - and make it Iran's nuclear program more transparent and allow investigators/the IAEA to inspect their program more openly/freely. (So, without him being in office - a lot of us have a lot to loose!)

Here is a list of all of the countries that have nuclear weapons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_states_wit...

Out of this list, I think there are *TWO* states that we should most worried about when it comes to nuclear technology/weapons: North Korea and Pakistan.

Pakistan is what I consider more of a meager country than most in the Middle East - and this, I believe, puts them at a higher risk of being invaded and over-taken by extremists and terrorist groups. (Like Al-Qaeda.) Just look at the overall poverty rate and the quality of living over there - and you will understand/see what I mean.

North Korea...Hmmm, what should I say about North Korea?...I think we Americans and the rest of the world should be more worried about North Korea than anybody else right now!
