Mahmoud Ahmadinejad attends Russia summit despite rising violence in Tehran

Per ynetnews.com, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad arrived in Yekaterinburg, Russia on Tuesday to attend a summit by the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) of Central Asian powers.

Per Earthtimes, the SCO was founded in 2001 by Russia and China and participating leaders from China, India, Pakistan and Mongolia are frequent observers in the group. Russian companies are engaged in constructing Iran’s first nuclear power plant at Bushehr, which is due for completion next year; 2010 per Earthtimes.

While tension rises worldwide over growing violence in Tehran, President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad carries on with business fueling further unrest on the streets of Tehran. Twitterers’ remarks on Iran now include Russia:
