Japan warns U.S. of possible July 4 North Korea launch

Per the Daily Mail, Japanese intelligence officials have informed the United States that North Korea may fire a long-range ballistic missile toward U.S. land on July 4, America’s Independence Day. Intelligence officials do not believe North Korea would be capable of hitting Hawaii, 4,500 miles away. The Taepodong-2 missile is believed to have a range of about 4,000 miles. It could, however, reach the U.S. territory of Guam in the Pacific Ocean.

    Is this because Japan is hoping that we will preemptively invade North Korea so that they are not forced to break their peace treaty and do it temselves? Although Kim Jung il is a tyrant who clearly has no soul, I am sure that he still has his best interest in mind. Attacking the US would mean the end of his tyrannical lineage in North Korea. Any attack on the US by North Korea would incite a retaliation that would forever change China/US relations as well. Hopefully Obama shows some restraint and isn't too hasty when dealing with that country.
