Per BBC, a freight train carrying gas experienced explosions in two carriages late Monday in the small Tuscan town of Viareggio in Northern Italy. At least 13 people were fatally wounded and 40 more injured when several train cars carrying gas derailed and exploded in a northern Italian town. As a result of the derailment the train struck multiple homes and collapsed at least two buildings.

@rabendeviaregia was the first to report on the incident on Twitter. He lives in Italy and based on his user name, he does seem to be from the Italian town the event happened, but it is not clear if he was on the train or not.
