Construction strikes in South Africa could affect 2010 World Cup

Per Reuters, approximately 70,000 South African construction workers began a strike Wednesday halting work at stadiums being built for the 2010 World Cup.

The National Union of Mineworkers (NUM) said the workers will strike indefinitely until employers meet their demand for a 13 percent pay raise, according to the article.

I guess the problem is they payment.Because when you think about african-workers you think about a man who works for you and he will accept a low paiment beucase his situation.

  • The probable reason is that they are not giving the right payment for the workers
  • Hope the strike doesn't last too long..hope the guys are also realistic, yes it's sad how little they get paid, but have my doubts if they will succeed and get wht they want. They shld just take wht is being offered and go back to work!!
