Had my numbers wrong. @BreakingNews was definitely 16 minutes after her tweet, not 14, but you get the idea — they're around there.

Also, I'm not sure our idea is to “compete” with traditional news – just offer something different and a closer look at these types of stories from the perspective of Twitterers near the scene of the news.

BT story I believe was posted around 5:50 p.m. DC time. That first tweet was about 5:22 p.m. if I have my numbers right, @BreakingNews posted at 5:36 p.m.? These are my best estimates based on what I remember. Something like that.

Adding timestamp to BT posts is a good idea. I'll look into it. Until then, you can find us on Google News to see how many hours ago it was posted.

Could someone confirm what time shooting was posted to Twitter and BreakingTweets?

I'm interested because our national news media claims to publish it 0:57 AM local time (5:57 PM DC time), but for me it is bit hard to believe it, since news on finnish mainstream media could be seen on web approximate one hour later than what claimed publishing time was. I think they are falsing timestamp so it doesn't look like someone posted shooting news first to private blog before mainstream media.

You can translate my blog post to english, it is based on story here. I recommend BT to add exact time stamp for blog posts.
