Kasab pleads guilty to Mumbai attacks

According to Haaretz, Mohammad Ajmal Kasab, 21, a Pakistani citizen pleaded guilty today at a Mumbai court to the Nov. 26-28 Mumbai attacks on two luxury hotels, a Jewish center and the train station, which led to 166 deaths and heated tensions between India and Pakistan.

Kasab was the only surviving gunman out of the 10 involved in the attacks and was all over the news, when his video carrying an AK-47 assault rifle was transmitted all over the world.

He is charged with 86 separate offences and had pleaded not guilty in May, however he now faces a possible death sentence, according to AlertNet.

“He has confessed to his role and the fact that he was involved in the attacks that killed so many people … the planning and the execution,” lead police investigator Rakesh Maria told Reuters, according to AlertNet.
