There were some issues that maybe water under the bridge. Still, unlike the other lady president, she will forever be in a venerable place in Philippine history.,Peace be with you!

Firstly the headline reads The first female leader of Asia.......Asia is a continent not a country, there are NO leaders of Asia.
Second, Aquino was not the first female leader of an Asian country, I can think of Indira Ghandi, who became India's Prime Minister in 1966. And thats just off the top of my head, I do believe there was an earlier one but can't think of it just now.
Don't feel too bad, Sky News in the UK made the same mistake

Yes, you're right. I noticed this after the fact. First female president in Asia would have been more accurate...instead of "leader of Asia." Thanks for this correction. I'll change it now.

Philippines former president, Corazon Aquino has died at the age of 76 after a long battle with colon cancer. Her true legacy to the Philippines will be her undoubted success in presiding over a peaceful transfer of power in a region where no ruler had voluntarily relinquished control since 1964.Mrs Aquino’s will be forever enshrined in the minds of all Filipinos as a national symbol of “People Power”.
