At least five dead in mass shooting at gym in Pittsburgh

More than a dozen people were shot after a gunman opened fire at an L.A. Fitness center in Bridgeville, Collier Township, Pennsylvania, just outside of Pittsburgh, according to KDKA.

The official count of deaths per several media outlets is five and the number may rise. Eleven people total were taken to area hospitals, KDKA reports.

Bridgeville became a Twitter trend as a result of the incident and many Twitterers chimed in about the horrific event.

For several local Twitter users, the shooting took place far too close to home. Some even had connections to the gym itself.
