Disputes at Thailand Hindu Temple lead to 15 injuries

On Saturday, Sept. 20, a long rooted disagreement came to head at a Hindu Temple close to the Cambodian border. Thailand has recently encountered protests that have often lead the to death and injuries of many Thai people. Many of the people speaking out are heavily concerned with the current political situation.

Approximately 2,000 anti-Thaksin (the exiled former Prime Minister is Thaksin Shinawatra) protesters gathered at the border of Cambodia at a Hindu Temple called Preah Vihear. The protesters, who call themselves People’s Alliance for Democracy (PAD), eventually broke through lines of Thai police to enter the temple. At least 15 were injured.

L.A. Times reports that “Thailand’s premier calls for peace on a tumultuous weekend.”

Be good if you could get even the basic facts right.

You can't even spell the former Thai PM's name correctly - it's NOT Thaiskin (sic) but THAKSIN

OK - every single report says 4000 people were involved in the demo.

The temple is not "near the border" it is actually IN Cambodia, as recognised by an international court and the UN and Thailand and Cambodia and every other single nation on the planet.

The PAD are not protesting against Thaksin - he is not even in Thailand. They are a hyper-nationalist mob with a long history of violence and intent on stirring up trouble. The border there was peaceful for years until the PAD started making trouble there last year.
