It's just dust… dirt being kicked around by the wind… in part due to extensive droughts in Australia. Agreed on the Apocalypse comment.

No worries at all, it really was something wicked to see. I am still kicking myself for not getting up at 6am when it was a beautiful deep red. But I guess you win some, you lose some haha.

And it is clearing up nicely now… should be a pleasant evening. Feel sorry for all the Queenslanders where it is heading now.
