Beijing to open new subway line before National Day

Beijing will soon open a new subway line before Oct. 1 for the National Day of the People’s Republic, according to China’s city transport authorities.

The No. 4 subway line will run south to north. It is 28.2 km long with 24 stations and is expected to handle more than 400,000 passengers a day.

Xinhua ads that the media has reported the new line would be put into use on Sept. 25 or 28, although this date is not final.
