Texas Tech players banned from Twitter

Texas Tech Football coach Mike Leach said Monday that he banned all his players from using Twitter – this announcement came shortly after linebacker Marlon Williams tweeted about his coach being late to a team meeting. “Wondering why I’m still in this meeting room when the head coach can’t even be on time to his on (sic) meeting”, Williams wrote in his Tweet.

Texas Tech fans and Twitter fans in general all seem to have a negative say in the events as they unfolded and as they continue to cause a stir.

Leach’s statement went as far as calling Twitter users, specifically college football players, “a bunch of narcissists that want to sit and type stuff about themselves all the time. We’ll put mirrors in some of their lockers if that’s necessary but they don’t have to Twitter.”

This Twitter ban has even started to spark other sports teams, such as the Milwaukee Bucks, to forbid any player in the arena to Tweet.

Twitter users continue to react to these bans and wonder how far they will go.
