U.K. Prime Minister Gordon Brown’s speech shows calm, but Twitterers aren’t as impressed

Gordon Brown, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, spoke at a Labour Party conference Tuesday to sell the party as being ready and capable for re-election.

A report in The New York Times explains Brown’s most recent criticisms and has many in the U.K. saying that there is no chance the Labour Party can win the next election which will take place by early June 2010.

Twitterers reacted to the speech where Brown stated he would “not give up, but fight to win for Britain.” Their responses were almost all suspicious, with few convinced of Brown’s words. Many even mocked the Prime Minister’s speech:

Brown has just eight months to change the skeptics’ minds. The Labour Party will be seeking its fourth consecutive term in office, and will be running against The Conservative Party, The Liberal Democrats with a number of smaller Parties.
