First doses of H1N1 vaccine given, though many unsure about it
According to the Associated Press the H1N1 swine flu vaccine is being distributed among 21 states and four large cities in the United States. Only 600,000 doses have been shipped so far. More small shipments are expected in more states later this week.
The Center for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that the vaccine be given to pregnant women, caregivers to children under 6 months of age, healthcare and emergency medical employees, all people aged 6 months through 24 years old, and persons aged 25 to 64 years old with health conditions associated with higher risk of medical complications from influenza.
Many states who have received the vaccine are prioritizing children and healthcare employees to receive the vaccine first.
Many Twitter users say they do not trust the new vaccine. Some even joke it will turn everyone into zombies.
