Kabul blast documented on Twitter

Tom Shaw, a researcher in Afghanistan per his bio, provided the first tweets about a major explosion in Kabul on Thursday morning. Sky News reports that a NATO official confirmed the blast. The cause was not immediately clear.

BNO News and Middle East correspondents also posted among the initial tweets on the incident, within five minutes of Shaw’s first tweets:

Shaw has been in Afghanistan since May. He previously spent time studying in Mozambique and Guinea-Bissau.
