USS New York embarks on maiden voyage

On Tuesday morning, the USS New York embarked on its maiden voyage from New Orleans to its namesake.

Constructed in honor of the victims from the 9-11 attacks, the ship has more than eight tons of steel from the wreckage taken from the World Trade Center towers.

Mixed tweets surfaced on Twitter the day of the send-off:
