Baby lives after getting hit by train in Australia

A video spread quickly today showing a 6-month-old baby in a stroller rolling off a platform onto train tracks seconds before getting hit by a train entering the station in Melbourne, Australia.

CNN reports how the baby miraculously survived being dragged 33 yards and escaping with only a cut on the forehead.

Twitterers were shocked at the news:

  • The word accident speaks for itself. Who wants to experience such a horrible act? No one is to blame. I don't think the mother wants it either. She was very shocked unless she was thinking of financial gain at the expense of her baby (which I know is far fetched).
  • Yes, no mother would want that to happen. I reckon it will only happen if she's mentally unstable of course.
  • Wats the world coming to now? Do we juss let our babies get hit by trains now? Is that the new trend? smh Wattaya doin bud?

She’s doubly lucky: first, her child is fine and second, she wasn’t in the US where she’d have been charged with felony child endangerment along with other idiotic “crimes” for a simple accident.
