Google, Bing reach search deals with Twitter

Google and Bing announced landmark deals with Twitter today to include real-time results in their search engines.

First, Microsoft and Twitter reached an agreement to include Twitter search results in Microsoft’s Bing. The new site bing.com/twitter does not just sort Twitter search results chronologically but by relevancy as well, based on an algorithm that includes number of followers.

Hours later, it was announced by Mashable that Google and Twitter struck a deal to include real-time tweets in Google’s results.

Many Twitter users are excited about Bing’s new Twitter search engine and are pleased with some of the features.

  • What if a deal wasn't reached? These search engines have too much power over what gets indexed.
  • Amy
I can't believe how popular Twitter has become.
  • does that mean that someone might come upon my inane twitter rants?
