Hmm I kinda missed Geocities also.. Several years a go when my friends would like to create website, I think the only option that we know is only host it on Geocities…I think Yahoo missed the opportunity to develop their services. Just like its email services now, I heard that it had a decreased user.

I am sorry to say this but... I never really liked GeoCities. I know it meant free hosting and other similar things, but... all those adverts and adds you had to put up made it not worth the trouble. I prefer paying for cheap hosting and saving myself from the advertisement problem.

Too bad Geocities was closed... it really was a great free hosting service ...now all users can search for on the net is cheap hosting , and that is not easy to find

Indeed, GeoCities was a place where most of us learned HTML. We had to. There weren't many options for getting a free website and the standard look was too common so we had to learn to play around with the code in order to make our pages personal.
