It’s a tale as old as time and now it’s getting a modern twist: the Academy Award-nominated Disney film, “Beauty and the Beast,” will be remade with Vanessa Hudgens in one of the title roles, according to Variety.

The new film, simply called “Beastly,” will focus “on an arrogant 17-year-old who’s hideously transformed in order to find true romance. “

But fans don’t seem happy about the casting choice–or that this perennial favorite is being retooled at all.
