Big Weekend for “Night at the Museum”

“Night at the Museum: Battle at the Smithsonian ” had a chart-topping weekend at the box office, bringing in $70 million over the four-day holiday.

According to EW.com, the film’s opening, which marks Ben Stiller’s highest ever, nearly doubled the amount its predecessor earned back in 2006.

“Terminator Salvation,” starring Christian Bale, battled it out for second place earning $53.8 million, followed by “Star Trek” which grossed $29.4 million in its second weekend.
