Twitter Responds to TV Show News

Following the news this morning that Twitter signed a deal to take the microblogging service to television, Twitter’s co-founder and creative director, Biz Stone, has taken to the company blog’s to clarify the news.

In a post called “Twitter Goes Hollywood?” Stone writes that there’s no specific plans in the works for a television show.  Rather, the company has a “lightweight, non-exclusive, agreement” that should be considered an “experiment.”

Stone concluded with a vague statement about the company’s future: “Twitter’s open approach might have the power to transform television—the dominant communications receiver worldwide. We’re very excited to see where these experiments take us.”

Tweeters are still having mixed reaction to the news, despite Stone’s blog post:
