Bravo announced this week that their next addition to the reality series “Real Housewives” will take place in Washington D.C., according to PEOPLE.com.  The original show, “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” first aired in 2006 and sparked three  spin-offs in New York, Atlanta and New Jersey.

According to YahooNews. and E!Online, there is no air date set and no housewives have been cast yet, but Bravo’s executive vice president said that they are looking for D.C. women who are “influential players, cultural connoisseurs, fashion sophisticates and philanthropic leaders”.

The Twitterverse expressed mixed feelings about the show’s newest locale:

There is also talk of casting for a Chicago edition, an independent project started by Towers Productions and not related to Bravo, the Chicago Sun-Times.com reported. The Towers casting director said that the hope is to find a group of women who can bring “a new twist” to the show.
