After a 17-year-stint, Jay Leno delivered his last monologue on “The Tonight Show” last night and kept viewers laughing with jokes about Bill Clinton and “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” PEOPLE.com reports.

Friday’s taping marked the 3775th “Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” and Leno’s last before Conan O’Brien takes over Monday, June 1. O’Brien was Leno’s only guest last night, signifying the show’s transition.  Leno fans won’t have to miss him for too long, as he’ll debut a new hour-long primetime comedy show on NBC beginning in September.

Leno ended the show by thanking viewers, everyone who made the show possible, and his wife. He said that it had been an “honor and a privilege” to make people laugh over the years.  The finale also featured 68 kids who were born to “Tonight Show” staff during the show’s run.

Twitterers reviewed Leno’s final show and said they are anticipating O’Brien’s takeover.
