Spoiler alert! Susan Boyle finished in second place during the finale of the hit show “Britain’s Got Talent,” The Associated Press reports. The ambitious singer had been considered the front-runner in recent months, but ended up losing to dance group Diversity.

After her final performance–where she sang “I Dreamed a Dream,” the song that made her a YouTube sensation–Boyle received praise from judge Simon Cowell.

“Win or lose, you had the guts to come back here tonight, face your critics — and you beat them,” he said.

Boyle’s life was turned upside down after her initial audition, thanks to the bombardment of both paparazzi and criticism.  She released a statement yesterday, saying she wouldn’t let the “pressure” get to her.

For her second-place finish, Boyle won a reported $159,000.

Some tweeters were disappointed by the outcome, while others thought Boyle didn’t deserve to win anyway:
