The altercation between Eminem and actor Sacha Baron Cohen during this year’s MTV Movie Awards was a gag, Eminem told RapRadar.com. The stunt involved Cohen appearing as his flamboyant character Bruno (in a thong!) and landing on the rapper bottom up.

Eminem said the whole thing was Cohen’s idea and he’s “thrilled that we pulled this off better than we rehearsed it.”

After viewers saw the 36-year-old storm out of the ceremony, he actually returned to his hotel room to enjoy the audience’s reactions.  “It had so many people going ‘nuts’ so to speak. Everyone was blowing me up talking about it,” he said.

Twitterers said the incident provides laughs but some are still torn about whether to believe that Eminem was in on it:
