“Twilight” Director to Remake “Hamlet”

William Shakespeare’s “Hamlet” is in the early stage of  a film remake, reports THR.com.  Big names are already attached to the project, including actor Emile Hirsch and “Twlight” director Catherine Hardwicke.

The article quoted the CEO of Overture, the company behind the new film, as noting that “the story of Hamlet is perhaps as timely and influential today as it was when it was written over 400 years ago” since it has “universal themes of death, revenge, love and even teen angst.”

According to IMDB.com, “Hamlet” has been remade into feature-length films more than10 times, in addition to many TV versions.
