Last night’s special episode of the popular TLC show “Jon and Kate Plus 8,” where Jon and Kate Gosselin officially announced their separation, set ratings records,  TV Guide Magazine reports. The episode, with an audience of 10.6 million, was the most watched television show Monday night and the highest-ever for the show.

Entertainment Weekly reports fans will have until August 3 for new episodes of “Jon & Kate.” The network told EW, “During this time the family will take some time off to regroup, and then a modified schedule will be in place to support the family’s transition.”
