June 22 marked the end of Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt coverage on E! News, the channel announced.

In an E! poll, an overwhelmingly majority of viewers voted in favor of removing “Speidi” from the network and Web site.  Specifically, 94 percent said they were tired of the couple’s publicity stunts.

Suzanne Kolb, chief marketing officer for Comcast Entertainment group and general manager of E! Online, spoke with DailyNews.com about the poll, saying “It was just a question of overexposure and wondering how much of the news about them was truly news or contrived.”

“They’re a controversial couple, and we didn’t know if people were done with them or not. But we went into it knowing that whatever they decided, we would do,” she said. “We’re prepared to live by the vote.”

The couple, who returned to Costa Rica for the finale of NBC’s “I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!” after quitting the show earlier this month, haven’t responded to the E! ban thus far.
