Per the Los Angeles Times, iconic pop performer Michael Jackson has died today after suffering a cardiac arrest.  He was 50.

Jackson, who got his start as a member of the family band Jackson 5, had numerous ailments over the years.  He was currently in the midst of preparations for a “comeback tour,” which was to begin in just a few weeks.
