Woodstock Documentary To Air On VH1, History Channel

Per Variety.com, VH1 and the History Channel have teamed up to bring the Barbara Kopple documentary “Woodstock: Now and Then” to television in August.

The two-hour doc will appear on VH1 August 14 and again three days later on the History Channel to coincide with Woodstock’s 40th-anniversary weekend.

According to the article, Kopple and VH1 wanted to bring the documentary to the widest possible audience, so bringing the History Channel on as a partner was the next logical step.

“Woodstock” will offer first-hand accounts and reflections from musicians, fans and promoters, along with archival images.  It will also feature musical excerpts from Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Sly and the Family Stone, Jimi Hendrix, Santana, and the Who.
