According to E! Online, a public memorial for Michael Jackson will be held Friday at the Neverland Ranch where the actor lived.  In anticipation of large crowds, the event will be heavily monitored by both public and private security officers, and it’s not clear what parts of the property will be accessible.

Many Twitterers said they are planning to attend–or wish they could attend–the memorial while others questioned the rationale behind it:
