Vanity Fair Publishes Heath Ledger Cover Story

Amidst all the drama surrounding the passing of Michael Jackson, Vanity Fair’s August issue remembers another tragic celebrity death: Heath Ledger.  The magazine explored Ledger’s talent and ambivalence toward Hollywood in the cover story titled, “The Last of Heath.”

Peter Biskind, a contributing editor for the magazine, writes of the tough, ambiguous questions still surrounding “The Dark Knight” star’s sudden death in 2008. Among the many topics discussed in the article: how Ledger cleaned up his act by stopping his use of marijuana and alcohol on a regular basis, how his insomnia could have been a large factor in his death, his failed relationship with actress Michelle Williams, his love for his daughter Matilda, his devotion to acting and his lackluster attitude toward being a celebrity.
