Barbara Walters Getting Lifetime Achievement Award

Veteran newswoman Barbara Walters will receive a Lifetime Achievement Award as part of this year’s Emmys, TV Guide Magazine reports.

Chosen by the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, “Walters has been a TV news fixture since breaking in on NBC’s ‘Today Show’ in 1961.”

According to the article, she will be “honored during the Academy’s presentation of the 30th Annual News and Documentary Emmy Awards” but it’s not clear if those will be televised.
