“Harper’s Island” Murder Mystery Solved, But Show Canceled

The CBS series “Harper’s Island” won’t return to the silver screen for a second season, EW.com’s Hollywood Insider reports.

The 13-episode series, which followed a serial killer who caused chaos at a Pacific Northwest wedding, developed a cult-like following from critics and fans alike who heavily used Twitter to discuss the show.  Even star (and–spoiler alert!–the serial killer) Christopher Gorham used his Twitter account to interact with fans.

The show averaged 4.8 million viewers over it’s short run, earning its largest audience during the July 11 finale.

Not surprisingly, Twitterers say they enjoyed the show and are sad to see it go:
