According to The Live Feed, FOX will air a documentary special on “The Simpsons” in honor of the TV show’s 20th anniversary in January.

The doc, entitled, “The Simpsons 20th Anniversary Special in 3-D on Ice,” will be produced and directed by Morgan Spurlock, whose credits range from “Super Size Me” to “30 Days,” according to the Orlando Sentinel.

The special will examine the cultural phenomenon of “The Simpsons,” as well as how the world sees the cartoon family and how the they’ve seen the world over two decades.

In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, Spurlock mentions that he has been a “Simpsons” fan ever since it came on air when he was in college.  He also said that he is approaching the documentary by viewing “The Simpsons” as a global phenomenon, and he plans on speaking with cast members and fans from all over the world.

Oddly (or funnily?) enough, an Editor’s Note on the original press release for the doc stated, “Please note the special is neither in 3-D nor on ice.”
