Author Frank McCourt Dies

Writer Frank McCourt died in Manhattan on Sunday, as a result of metastatic melanoma, according to The New York Times.  He was 78.

McCourt’s most famous work, “Angela’s Ashes,” received a Pulitzer Prize in 1997. The memoir was based on his poor childhood in Ireland.
