Fans of the “Twilight Saga” were shocked to learn actress Bryce Dallas Howard would be replacing Rachelle Lefevre as Victoria in the series’ third film, but they weren’t alone. According to PEOPLE.com, Lefevre was shocked by the news herself saying she “was stunned” and “fully committed to the Twilight saga,” including its third film “Eclipse.”

Lefevre played villain vampire Victoria in “Twilight” and the upcoming sequel “New Moon,” scheduled for release on November 20. She says she turned down several movie roles to keep her schedule clear for “Eclipse.”

Summit said it replaced the actress due to a scheduling conflict with her upcoming film “Barney’s Version,” which begins filming the same day as “Eclipse”. Lefevre says she never imagined her small roll in the independent flick would cost her the role of Victoria saying, “Given the length of filming for ‘Eclipse’, never did I fathom I would lose the role over a 10 day overlap.”

Although disappointed, Lefevre wished the cast and crew well, and said she was grateful for the chance to play the vampire and for fan support.

Twitterers have employed several tactics in hopes of bringing Lefevre back to the cast, including #BringBackRachelle, #Team Victoria, starting online petitions, and even suggesting phone calls be made to Summit Entertainment’s CEO.
