Summitt Responds to Lefevre’s “Twilight” Allegations

Although Rachelle Lefevre said she was shocked and hurt when she learned her role as Victoria the villian vampire in “Twilight Saga” was recast, Summit Entertainment’s version of the story is very different.  PEOPLE.com reports, according to Summit, Lefevre did not inform the studio of her schedule conflict until two months after accepting the role. The statement went on to say, “Summit had acted in good faith that she would be available to fulfill her obligations both in terms of rehearsals and shooting availability [for "Eclipse"]. Her choice to withhold her scheduling conflict information from us can be viewed as a lack of cooperative spirit which affected the entire production.”

The company, concerned about keeping up with the planned filming schedule, said they were left with no other option other than to recast the role. The role has now been awarded to Bryce Dallas Howard.
