The “Saved By The Bell” reunion cover story in PEOPLE Magazine, on newsstands today, took over a year of planning, according to PEOPLE.com.

And though “SBTB” star Mark-Paul Gosselaar appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” in June to discuss Fallon’s own reunion plans for the cast, PEOPLE beat them to it—and had been working on the plans for much longer than Fallon, Newsweek discovered.

But the PEOPLE cover stirred up some questions about the photo shoot.  Where was Screech?  And what about an actual reunion show?

Newsweek, in a June interview with Gosselaar, found out that he hadn’t spoken to Diamond recently, as they are no longer close.  That seems to be true for the rest of the cast as well.

As far as a reunion show, Gosselaar told Newsweek that Fallon could have offered more details about what he had in mind. “I’m more for a reunion if we’re completely in character and we can do a skit about it.  That would be something the audience would yearn for than just seeing us,”  Gosselaar said.

Even still, a reunion show is up in the air as most of the cast is busy with other commitments.  Lopez told PEOPLE that it will have to wait– it’s hard for him to take time off.  Lopez will host the fourth season of “America’s Best Dance Crew,” continue his duties with “Extra,” as well as promote his fitness book and children’s book. Tiffani Thiessen, another “SBTB” star, parodied her own busy life in a “Funny or Die” video. Looks like, for now, fans will need to keep watching the “SBTB” re-runs.

Seems the Twitterverse is enjoying the “SBTB” story in PEOPLE, but more so looking forward to an actual reunion show:
