The Pope Signs Record Deal

Though he may seem an unlikley music star, Pope Benedict XVI has signed a major record deal with Geffen Records, whose artists include Snoop Dogg and Ashlee Simpson.

According to USA Today, the pope will release “Alma Mater,” featuring chants and prayers to the Virgin Mary along with eight original classical compositions, on Nov. 30.

A portion of the profits from sales will support music education for underprivileged children around the world.

    Although humorous I think it’s great he is doing this, trying new modern ways that people do not expect in order to help spread the teachings of the christian faith and reach people in a different way. It’s great and I look forward to the release.
