After months of buzz and anticipation, the third season of AMC’s “Mad Men” premiered Sunday evening.

While the series averaged under 2 million viewers an episode last season, it earned 16 Emmy nominations this year and has inspired new trends in pop culture and fashion.

Twitter users shared their reactions to last night’s episode:

  1. Ty Nowell
tynowell Lot going on in Mad Men. Gonna be an intriguing season for sure.
  2. Deanna Decker
dmdecker Beginning to think there is something really wrong with me (beyond the obvious) because I strongly dislike Mad Men. Lo siento AMC.
  3. carly
carly_jane Um, can we talk about how good Mad Men was last night? I’m not going to spoil it, but one part made my jaw drop. If you saw it, you know.
  4. Kathy Smith
KathyASmith Okay, Season 3 opener of Mad Men – different, good but different, a couple things I didn’t like, but still, not bad overall :)
  5. Brittany Lane
BrittanyLane Really hoping my DVR was still set from last year to record new episodes of Mad Men because I didn’t catch it last night.
  6. ScottHauman
ScottHauman Thoughts on yesterday’s Mad Men season opener? They set things up for a very interesting season. Love the London Fog naming situation.
  7. Lexi
veggiedollface1 @chickdowntown I love Mad Men. The plot twists, hot men, & classic style grabs my attention & won’t let me go!
  8. MrJustinK
MrJustinK @etiennepadin Mad Men was interesting, but I don’t know what to think. I probably need to watch the past seasons to get hooked!
  9. Ryan Cohn
ryancohn If you talk during Mad Men, go out of the room. Whatever you’re saying isn’t as well-written as the dialogue on Mad Men.
  10. Paulina Lowczak
mspaulina2505 newest Mad Men went big with some storylines. i liked that. really enjoyable episode.
  11. Raechal Leone
raechal Did everyone else love Mad Men as much as me last night? Just building momentum for an awesome season. But I’d be happy with an hr of Don.
