“Vampire Diaries”-Themed Blood Drives Held At U.S. Schools

According to TVGuide.com, The CW introduced an initiative called “Starve a Vampire. Donate Blood.” to kick off its new series, “The Vampire Diaries,” which premieres Sept. 10.

The blood drive, which began Aug. 25 and runs for five weeks, will give students at 250 high schools and colleges across the nation the opportunity to donate blood to the American Red Cross.

Donors can enjoy “Vampire Diaries”-themed refreshment areas complete with exclusive footage from the show, as well as “Vampire Diaries” customized t-shirts.
