Fox Airs “Fringe” and “Glee” Reruns with Tweets, Viewers Complain

Fox has decided to add a little something extra to its summer reruns of “Fringe” and “Glee,” reports USA Today. On Thursday and Friday nights’ reruns, respectively, the network included on-air tweets from a few of the shows’ producers and cast members.

“Fringe” executive producers Jeff Pinkner and J.H. Wyman, joined by cast members Joshua Jackson and John Noble, had a conversation via Twitter during the show, chatting with each other and answering questions from fans.

The “Glee” “tweet-peat,” as the Twitter-infused rerun was branded by Fox, involved Lea Michele and Kevin McHale, among others. The tweets appeared on the bottom third of the screen.

While Fox might have thought the “tweet-peats” were great ideas, it appears that most Twitterers weren’t too happy about them:

    ChefMark The GLEE “tweet-peat” was pretty disappointing. They should learn from Current.tv how to do it properly. the only tweets were the cast

  • Nice Blog!!!! I just Love this show No one wants to miss such a great show.

    Being I crazy fan of the series Glee. Critics' darling Glee Episodes beat out a strong line-up of old stalwarts and edgy new fare to clinch the Golden Globe for best television comedy. I think no one wants to miss such a great tv show.
