According to BBC.com, the first round of performers for a Michael Jackson tribute concert were announced today, and Chris Brown is set to open the show, which will be his first public performance since his domestic abuse case with Rihanna.

The concert will be held at Schoenbrunn Palace in Vienna on September 26, reports E!.  Jackson’s brother Jermaine Jackson is organizing the event, which will also feature Mary J. Blige, Akon, Natalie Cole, Sister Sledge, German boy band US5, Angela Bassett, and even Jermaine himself.

While few tweeps are acknowledging Brown’s skills as a performer, others have yet to let go of his past:
