MTV reality star Tila Tequila made a citizen’s arrest on September 6, claiming that San Diego Chargers’ linebacker Shawne Merriman choked and restrained her, according to CNN.com.

Merriman was charged with battery and false imprisonment after Tequila, whose real name is Tila Nguyen, signed a citizen’s arrest warrant once police arrived.

Merriman’s attorney told reporters that the player did not harm Nguyen and that she was “extremely intoxicated and inebriated.”

Nguyen was sent to Pomerado Hospital but her exact condition is unknown.
