Actress, comedian, talk show host and now reality show judge: Ellen DeGeneres will be the permanent fourth host on “American Idol,” Entertainment Weekly reports.

Fox made the announcement late today, ending the question of who would replace 7-year judge Paula Abdul, who revealed just over a month ago that she wouldn’t be returning to the show.

DeGeneres will join the judges’ panel after the audition rounds, which featured guest judges such as Victoria “Posh Spice” Beckham and Joe Jonas.
