According to reports from Yahoo.com, Ellen DeGeneres’ eponymous talk show is being sued by record companies in the Nashville area for not having the rights to play songs during her dance segments on the daily show.

DeGeneres, who just signed on as American Idol’s fourth judge, has her own DJ plays music for her to dance to with the audience, as well as when guests make an entrance.  The show reportedly never obtained the legal rights to play any of the songs they’ve showcased, a violation of copyright laws.
