George Takei and Husband First Gay Couple To Appear On “Newlywed Show”

George Takei of “Star Trek” fame and his husband, Brad Altman, will be the first gay couple to appear on GSN’s “The Newlywed Game,” according to TVGuide.com.

The second season of “The Newlywed Game” will begin on Oct. 12 on GSN, and the couple will tape their episode soon. Takei and Altman married last September and have been together 22 years.

Host Carnie Wilson said that featuring gay couples on the show is “needed at this point,” and has lobbied for an all-gay edition before.
